William & Diane Itter Collections – Art, Antiques, and Folk Art

EDS presents the first of four auctions from the collections of William and Diane Itter. In this live stream auction taking place in the EDS Showroom and online is a distinctive collection of Tramp and Folk Art, Early 20th century lamps, Antique furniture, Guatelamalan and Mexican Dance Masks, delightful children’s toys and miniatures, Erphila pottery pitchers and teapots, Art Deco accessories, Czechoslovakian Art Glass and Ceramics, Japanese ceramics and studio pottery. There is a huge collection of hand crafted folk art whimsical Kitchen Matchbox Holders, Bakelite Animal form napkin rings, natural specimen examples from teaching programs including rocks, corals, shells. Art by Mark Bulwinkle, Textile Art by Tom Lundberg, Mary Resteaux and others, Japanese woodblock prints and William Itter early works on paper and canvas as well as a few later pieces.

William ‘Bill’ Itter (1942-2025). BFA and MFA Yale University. Artist, award-winning educator, and generous philanthropist who influenced generations of students over 35 years at Indiana University.

Proceeds from the auctions of the Itter Collection support the William and Diane Itter Museum of Art Conservation and Research Endowment (through the Eskenazi Museum of Art). This fund supports the care, research, and preservation of artworks at the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art. The museum director will use the funds to support conservators, curators, research, and equipment that help protect and deepen understanding of the collection. Positions supported by the fund may be named in honor of William and Diane Itter, recognizing their lasting commitment to the arts.

The public can donate directly to a separate fund for the IU School of Fine Arts through the William and Diane Itter Fellowship in Studio Art which provides for four fellowships per year to first-year graduate students int he MFA Studio Art program and two awards for MFA students for excellence in teaching.
